Eligibility for the DFCP Exam
You are eligible to take the DiversityFIRST™ Certified Professional (DFCP)® credential if:
- You work for an organization just beginning its DEIB journey.
- You are interested in helping your organization do real DEIB work, beyond affirmative action or quaint politically correct tokens.
- You want to learn DEIB concepts and make a convincing data-driven business case, become an exceptional DEIB strategist, recruiter, trainer, and more.
- You have at least two years of DEIB experience.
The DiversityFIRST™ Executive Professional (DFEP) credential picks up in the middle because it assumes that you already know the basics of DEIB.
Eligibility for the SDP Exam
The DFEP comes in highly recommended for you if:
- You are not certain where to start.
- You contribute to the realization of complex, advanced or international DEIB efforts in your organization without a field-related job title.
- You have a minimum of five (5) years of experience and occupy a leadership role currently (regardless of your title).
- You are deliberate about removing systemic limitations, including blind spots and bias, by taking action to ensure diversity among suppliers, and the workforce up to the Board level.

Assessment
To take the test, ensure that the personal details on your application match those on your valid government-issued ID.
We facilitate your testing through PSI, a trusted, easy-scheduling, and secure global online exam proctoring and testing system. Want to take your exam on a weekday or the weekend? Find your most suitable date through this flexible system. On test day at the testing center:
- Bring your government-issued ID card
- Arrive at least 15 minutes early
Would you rather take the test at home or in your office? You may do that, too! Need extra time to complete the exam because of a medical or other valid diagnosis? We give you 30 extra minutes to complete your test. Just ask!
What to know when testing at home or your office:
- This is not an open-book exam
To facilitate fairness and transparency, you will need a camera-enabled device; you will be required to:
- Verify your ID, and
- Do a complete room scan
About the DFCP® Exam
The DiversityFIRST™ Certified Professional (DFCP)® credential gives you a solid foundation for successful diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging work. Our approach in this course is informed by a need to help you understand a result oriented DEIB practice that aligns with your organizational goals, and effective management. Your DFCP credential helps you improve your cultural competency and prove ability to complete everyday tasks that foster diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

To attain your DFCP® credential, you must:
- Score 80% or higher on your 170- question, multiple choice exam
- Submit your professional work sample, also known as the Candidate Project.
Time Requirements:
- Complete your multiple choice exam within 2.5 hours
Renew your credentials:
- Your initial credential will be valid for 3 years.
- To renew your credential you must show proof of 60 Continuing Education Credits (CEC's) and pay a $50 recertification fee.

About the DFEP® Exam
DiversityFIRST™ Executive Professional (DFEP)® credential goes beyond conventional diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work. It challenges organizations to pursue DEIB work from its leadership level.
The credential empowers business executives to propel organizational growth and success beyond diverse representation. Our aim is to help you to become thought leaders in the DEIB space.
You may apply to take the DiversityFIRST™ Executive Professional (DFEP) if:
- You have a professional certification in any of the following fields: sales, supplier diversity, management, law, recruiting, multicultural marketing, training, consulting, or volunteer experience with a diversity council or resource group.
- You have at least 5-years of experience in any of the above fields
- You currently hold an organizational leadership role
- You lead a diversity council or a resource group
- You manage a division/department, or aspire to such roles, with or without direct reports
To earn your DFEP credential, you must:
- Score 80% or higher on your 170- question, multiple choice exam
- Submit your professional work sample, also known as the Candidate Project.
Time Requirements:
- Complete your multiple choice exam within 2.5 hours

About the Candidate Project
Your Candidate Project is your professional work sample which demonstrates your knowledge AND ability to do the work. This is an essential portfolio-building exercise. You may use your "Candidate Project" as proof of additional experience required for each credential.
Project Requirements:
- Complete and submit your project before noon on your exam day. Late projects will not be accepted.
- Submit a piece of your own work completed within the last year on your job. If you worked with a team, indicate each member’s name and specific contributions.
We have three (3) project assessment criteria:
- Thoroughness
- Accuracy
- Impact.
Two current certified designees will peer-review your project to determine if it meets the set criteria for your chosen certification.

Your Candidate Project score is different from your exam score. To be credentialed, you must pass both.
